We are looking for a dispatcher to operate our Winter Snow Desk from October 15, 2022 to April 15, 2023 at our Gazzola Paving Yard (529 Carlingview Drive). This position is responsible for liaising between the clients, supervisors and drivers to ensure winter operations are done in a timely fashion and are handled professionally and accurately.
Responsibilities:
Education: High school or equivalent (Required)
Language: English (Required)
Position Available: Friday to Sunday (3 – 12 shifts -every two weeks shift alternates between day and night)
Salary: $19.75 per hour (36 hours per week)
Responsibilities:
- Answer all incoming inquiries
- Coordinate with supervisors and drivers
- Call-in and communicate with drivers to ensure winter operations are done in a timely fashion
- Communicate with supervisors any driver issues or problems
- Maintain data entries to ensure accurate records
- Enter truck salt weights into the computer system and print tickets
- Tracking all salt spreaders / plow trucks, loaders & other equipment and enter in computer system
- Can work well under pressure
- Other duties as assigned by the Manager
- Experience in a dispatch role preferred
- Ability to work autonomously and with little direction
- Ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel
- Must be able to work a 12-hour shift
- Schedule work period is from Friday to Sunday including nights and weekends between October 15, 2022 and April 15, 2023. Alternates between every two weeks between day shift (7:00 am to 7:00 pm) and night shift (7:00 pm to 7:00 am)
- Must be a team player committed to maintaining desired service levels
- There is no public transit available to the yard or walking access. Must be able to drive or arrange transportation to and from the yard
