Job description
We are looking for a dispatcher to operate our Winter Snow Desk from October 15, 2021 to April 7, 2022 at our Don Valley Parkway / Bayview Avenue Yard (777 Bayview Avenue). This position is responsible for liaising between the clients, supervisors and drivers to ensure winter operations are done in a timely fashion and are handled professionally and accurately.
Responsibilities:
- Answer all incoming inquiries
- Coordinate with supervisors and drivers
- Call-in and communicate with drivers to ensure winter operations are done in a timely fashion
- Communicate with supervisors any driver issues or problems
- Maintain data entries to ensure accurate records
- Assist customer inquires
- Tracking all salt spreader / plow trucks & graders and enter in computer system
- Can work well under pressure
- Other duties as assigned by the Manager
Requirements:
- Experience in a dispatch role preferred
- Ability to work autonomously and with little direction
- Ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel
- Must be able to work a shift schedule including nights and weekends between October 15, 2021 and April 7, 2022
- Must be a team player committed to maintaining desired service levels
- There is no public transit available to the yard or walking access. Must be able to drive or arrange transportation to and from the yard

All employees will be required to complete a Covide-19 testing prior to starting at the yard. Employees will be given a detailed instructions and plans to address Covid-19. Dispatcher area will be off limits to all other staff.
